For me, it is always nice to start the New Year with new goals, and to be creative with these goals, and to start up personal projects with enthusiasm and passion. Photography is one such area of interest that I wish to explore further, and push the boundaries of this medium.

I have amassed thousand upon thousands of photo images that I have captured over the 50 years. And I am still taking photos on a daily basis with the same passion I had when I was purchased a ‘point ‘n’ shoot’ Kodak 255X Instamatic Camera back in 1971.

Monochrome photography has always been a fascinating form of expression for me. I like the quote from the photographer, Joel Sternfeld:  “Black and white is abstract; colour is not. Looking at a black and white photograph, you are already looking at a strange world.”….  Well, folks, welcome to the strange world I see every day, as I visit my own home surroundings, my local neighbourhood, and beyond.

This Photo Journal Book of 2026 is Volume One, covering the months of January to June. It has been, and is, a fun project to be involved in. Once you start, you want to continue for an indefinite date; it is a form of an addiction for me, in a healthy sense (I hope).
