INTRODUCTION
I have many emphemeral items that I have collected over sixty years, many of which, by the way, I am now releasing to avid collectors.
Over in the Wordpress media platform, I was displaying many aspects of my vast collection. The blog was called Amazing Worlds. I published 218 issues. I stopped producing this Blog newsletter about a year or so ago for various reasons.
It only dawned on me, a couple of days, that I had a yearning go back sharing my “stuff” to the public but this time using my own website https://johnweekstraveller.wixsite.com/johnweekscollections which has the same ‘blog’ setup as Wordpress. In fact, it makes sense to keep everything in one location.
So, I am continuing on publishing Amazing Worlds, with the next issue number 219.
THE HEDGE KNIGHT
"The Hedge Knight" is the first novella in George R. R. Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg series (also collected as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), set in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire (the Game of Thrones books).Published originally in 1998 as part of the anthology Legends, it takes place about 90 years before the events of A Game of Thrones, during the reign of the Targaryen dynasty when dragons are still part of living memory.
Marvel Comics published in 2008 the comic ;The Hedge Knight : Sworn Sword" (which later resulted into the graphic novel format (illustrated by Mike S. Miller, scripted by Ben Avery)
Below is a copy of the comic - Issue 5 May 2008:
By the way, I interviewed George R. R. Martin back in 1998 (13 June) for a radio show that I was producing/presenting called Spectrum, broadcast on radio station 3MDR 97.1 FM in Victoria, Australia.

DICK TRACY
Dick Tracy is the iconic hard-boiled detective from the classic American comic strip created by Chester Gould in 1931. He debuted as a tough, square-jawed police detective fighting crime in a gritty urban world, famous for his sharp fedora, yellow trench coat, and gadgets like the two-way wrist radio (a precursor to modern smartwatches). The strip ran for decades under Gould until 1977 and continues today with new artists and writers (currently by Mike Curtis, Shelley Pleger, and others).
What made Dick Tracy legendary were the wildly grotesque villains with punny names and exaggerated features (often based on real-life criminals or caricatures), like Flattop, Pruneface, The Mole, Mumbles, and many more. This rogues' gallery influenced later comics, including Batman's villains.
---------------------

Recently, I discovered, in my collection, the magazine, The Australian Magazine, dated 26 May 1990, featuring a publicity image of the villains in the 1990 movie adaptation of Dick Tracy, directed by and starring Warren Beatty, with an all-star cast: Al Pacino as Big Boy Caprice, Madonna as Breathless Mahoney, and cameos galore (Dustin Hoffman as Mumbles, etc.). ….
