Monochrome photography has always been a fascinating form of expression for me. I like the quote from the photographer, Joel Sternfeld: “Black and white is abstract; colour is not. Looking at a black and white photograph, you are already looking at a strange world.”…. Well, folks, welcome to the strange world I see every day, as I visit my own home surroundings, my local neighbourhood, and beyond.

This Photo Journal Book of 2026 is Volume One, covering the months of January to June. It has been, and is, a fun project to be involved in. Once you start, you want to continue for an indefinite date; it is a form of an addiction for me, in a healthy sense (I hope). ... John Weeks
