Queensland singer-songwriters Georgia Scarlett (Brisbane but originally from Adelaide) and Joel Spence (Burrum Heads but originally from Gippsland) have teamed up for their first official collaboration, releasing the country-folk single 'The Wise Folks Say' on Friday, June 19.

The song has been added to Apple Music's New In Country playlist.

Written during Gympie's Song Muster songwriting initiative alongside Tate Cole and Robert Peters, the song explores hindsight, connection and the lessons we often only understand after living through them ourselves. The track also brings together two artists from different generations, creating a release that speaks to listeners across age groups.

For Georgia, the single marks a new creative direction following her debut album Rhythm of Life, while for Joel it represents his first official duo release after more than 18 years performing professionally.

The song was recorded at Kelsey Berrington's studio at Kobble Creek, with mixing by Jake Rennie and mastering by Chris Downer (Digital Downz Mastering)..
